Here’s the thing about Dior: The fashion house picks its muses, and picks them well.
So, while you’ve got new-age IT girl Bella Hadid smoldering in the brand’s line of makeup, no one but Rihanna could’ve rocked psychedelic futuristic sunglasses quite like bad girl RiRi. And, as much as we were impressed with Jennifer Lawrence’s fierce delivery of the chic and sophisticated Diorever and Diorama handbags, the brand now goes back in time with Marion Cotillard, a classic beauty who ably represents the roots of its maker.
Yes, that’s the journey you’ll be taking with Lady Dior’s Cruise 2017 campaign—right back to the beginning in Granville France, the scenic village where Christian Dior grew up and found his first-ever inspirations that set things in motion.
The garden, the flowers, the colours, the fluidity, all come to life in Dior’s latest campaign where the French actress dons vivid creations from the brand’s Cruise 2017 collection—all while holding the fashion house’s iconic (my precious) Lady Dior Bag.
Marion Cotillard is Dior’s Flower Woman and she’s canvassed by British photographer Craig McDean in Dior’s Garden Of Eden. Her makeup: understated; her gaze, unperturbed: her expression, sultry… she lets the clothes and bags do all the talking.
The Lady Dior Bag
Fashioned from lambskin, you spot the iconic Lady Dior bag in black and red with the classic Cannage topstitch that’s synonymous with the brand’s accessories. The addition of an embroidered version has a vintage charm, while the bags find their new-age twist in the custom leather straps that let you add badges of your choice. Care to monogram yours with your initials?
And if monogramming is not quite your style, a heart, lucky star, sunny bee, blooming rose, and even the brand’s Lady Dior bag have been molded into metal badges for your personalisation pleasure. So, if an arm candy is what you’re looking for this year, we say trade up from the blokes to the bag because as Christian Dior once said: “Even when there are no more secrets, fashion remains a mystery.” Sounds like an engaging relationship, doesn’t it?
