Panto-shaped and multicoloured, the #DiorSoReal sunglasses scream luxury and have been spotted on more A-listers than you can count—Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olivia Palermo, Rita Ora, Hilary Duff, Marion Cotillard, Lupita Nyong’o, Fergie, Rihanna… the list goes on.
It’s plain to see that these beauties are no ordinary sunglasses. They’re as pretty as a picture and signal the new wave of futuristic shapes in eyewear that the house of Dior has been rolling out with much fervor. Remember the Dior Umbrage with the pretty leafy overlay? And, those Rihanna x Dior #Reflective sunnies that were straight out of Star Trek? We loved them all!
Now, with Dior launching this year’s version of their famous So Real sunglasses—enter: DiorSavoirFaire—the coveted eyewear line’s just gotten that much bolder with torn silhouettes encompassing the iconic frame.
What’s more, the brand had the gorgeous French actress Marion Cotillard work the new #SoReal sunnies in their #LadyDior Cruise 2017 ad release, and needless to say, the shades held their own against vintage Lady Dior bags that were supposed to be the focus of the campaign.
The Video That Will Give You All The Feels
You wouldn’t expect to be taken in by a video that documents the making of the #DiorSavoirFare sunglasses, but you’d be wrong. It’s mesmerizing, the attention to detail, accents that are handcrafted, the polishing to perfection, the cutting edge technology… it’s much more than an assembly line; it’s art in motion. You want to know why you pay a premium for luxury? Well, Dior’s behind-the-scenes will leave you questioning it no more.
Deconstructed with architectural lines, these sunglasses do justice to the label. The see-through overlay and aviator topline—Dior at it’s best. Also, the hidden nose pads and bridge are a nice touch and make for a practical solution when it comes to maintaining the fit of the sunnies even after overuse.
Our favourite part? The torn effect on the lenses that creates a ripple of three colours (black, blue and green / gold black and pink / gold pink, black and violet). Is it any surprise we expect the new Dior sunglasses to become an inevitable part of 2017’s couture must-haves?
Now here’s the fun part. You get to create your own Dior So Real sunglasses by choosing from a selection of lenses, eyebrow details, metals, and colour of nosepads served up by Dior. In fact, you can even have them engraved with lettering of up to 18 characters.
22-year-old blogger and model Kristina Bazan’s done just that and we’ve got to say, we can’t wait to try the #MyDiorSoReal feature for ourselves:
Buy Them Already
Now, while the new #DiorSoReal shades are priced upward of £465, here’s where you can buy last year’s collection for a lot cheaper (like, £100 cheaper!).
