When it comes to skincare, there are three ways you end up buying your products.
- You use what your peers and family have been over the years.
- You experiment with brands and products because you’re addicted to the novelty factor.
- You do a bit of research and opt for those that have received good reviews and see how they work for you.
Well, we believe in number 3. That’s why, we’re bringing you five sunscreens that have received rave reviews from users who continue to come back for them, every three months.
Dr Andrew Weil For Origins Mega-Defense SPF 45 Advanced Daily UV Defender
This is a fantastic product to apply straight after your usual day cream. I love that it is non greasy and not too heavy which is often the case when you use day cream that contains a high SPF. I suffer from hyper pigmentation, especially around my cheeks and it always darkens as soon as the sun comes out. I’ve noticed since using this (about 1 year now) that it hasn’t darkened or become worse at all in that time.”
Estée Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant & UV Defense SPF 50
It is non-greasy, and blends easily. After one weekend, I am certain that this will be a summer staple! It’s very light, and has a great fragrance. I used it without additional moisturizer, and felt that my skin was smooth and matte all day. Love that it’s an SPF 50 and isn’t heavy.”
Murad Oil-Free Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30 | PA+++
I’ve been using this sunscreen for 7 years now and just love it. I’ve tried a few store brands since I began using Murad in 2009, but they just don’t compare. I have sensitive skin, oily in the t-zone. This is the ONLY sunscreen I’ve ever purchased that does not make my face break out. The smell is great, the consistency is perfect, not so heavy it weighs you down, but enough protection to avoid burns and premature aging. Love it!!!”
Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30
I have worn this SPF every day, all year round, for almost 10 years. I had redness on my chin that never got any better until I started using Jan Marini products. I’m 55, don’t look my age and get lots of compliments on my skin. Ladies, if you do nothing else, wear sunscreen daily!”
Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Fluid for Face SPF30
I have very sensitive skin, and even Clinique’s chemical sunscreen irritated my skin. I was so excited when they added a physical sunscreen to their lineup! Physical sunscreen can be overly thick or oily, but this is neither. Once rubbed in and absorbed, it was comfortable and didn’t dry out my normally very dry skin.
All physical sunscreens have the potential to leave a white cast on your skin. I would say this sunscreen is pretty good about not doing that, but if you have trouble with it try using your fingers to warm and massage it into your skin. I have very fair skin and did not have any issues, but your mileage may vary if you have a darker complexion. Do NOT apply less sunscreen as a solution to this, physical sunscreens only work with good skin coverage!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this sunscreen for people who have very sensitive skin and are not able to use chemical sunscreens. Remember, using sunscreen every day will help prevent signs of aging, as well as certain types of skin cancer.”
